The system optimizes the product value chain, including energy management, process data management and decision support, enabling continuous improvement. Jujo Thermal has seen productivity improvement and cost reductions in just six months, with potential to unlock more system features for even greater value.
The mill’s goal was to create a modern system that could be the catalyst to further improve processes and overall operations. One important example is managing the high volume of recipes for various combinations of coatings and base papers. The ABB Ability MES integrates recipes into the production planning module, so they have the right recipe for the right schedule.
Another area that has improved is the sales department, where streamlined documentation reduces the time and effort of inputting and managing orders.
As the team becomes more familiar with the system, they anticipate benefits from using more of the available features. Examples of this include integration with the mill’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and further honing of recipe management.
