OPPO is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of mobile devices and a growing global player in 5G. The company is building a major new technology park in Chongqing, China, expected to produce 100 million smart devices annually, valued at more than 30 billion RMB (US$4.5 billion). They need intelligent, reliable power supplies to keep this vast operation running at peak capacity.
More than 5 billion people around the world already use a mobile phone— and the numbers are rising. Smart phones and other mobile devices are becoming more and more sophisticated and powerful, harnessing the speed and advanced capabilities of 5G mobile technology. One of the drivers of this technological development is OPPO.
Due for completion in 2024, the 102-hectare OPPO Chongqing Intelligent and Ecological Technology Park will be OPPO’s largest manufacturing base in South China and will produce 100 million smart devices annually. The campus will serve as an important production base and logistics center that houses smart manufacturing, automated warehousing and software, and hardware R&D.
Heralded as an all-in-one “smart” tech park, the campus will support OPPO’s ambition to build a range of smart products and services around smartphones and lead industrial development in the 5G+ era.
