In order to meet its sustainable energy goals, a greenfield waste-to-energy project called the Clean Energy Port is currently being built in Gdańsk, Poland. Once completed, the plant will process approximately 160,000 tons of waste each year from Gdańsk and its surrounding municipalities, allowing it to generate an estimated 109 GWh of energy and 509 TJ of heat.
