The sweet sound of conservation

To reverse losses, the city’s local water utility Saigon Water Corporation (SAWACO) relies on ABB Ability™ Symphony® Plus to detect and manage leaks throughout the network in near real-time as part of a complete state-of-the-art SCADA system that covers 50% of the city’s entire water distribution network.

ABB Ability™ Symphony® Plus is a distributed control system specifically designed for utilities. SAWACO uses it to monitor and manage sensors and meters for flow and pressure monitoring across the water network. This helps SAWACO direct repairs and infrastructure investments in a way that achieves the most benefit to meeting their leakage reduction goals for the least amount of time and cost.  Coupled with a major renovation of the city’s water distribution network, SAWACO aims to reduce water leakage down to 10 percent by the end of 2020.
